10.5 tons of expired materials seized during August

Ramallah- Ma'an- The Customs Police Department dealt with 295 cases in August in cooperation with civil partners and relevant security agencies, as part of combating smuggling in all its forms and protecting the national economy. The details of the cases are as follows: 155 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and provide the treasury with funds, detailed as follows: - 101 tax and customs cases were seized and taxpayers were referred to the ministry to complete their commercial transactions. - 25 cases of goods coming from Israel that did not carry a clearing invoice were seized. - 29 cases were seized in the field of smuggled tobacco, which is banned from circulation due to its economic damage and drain on the state treasury. Dealing with 78 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy to prevent the spread of spoiled and counterfeit goods and settlement goods, detailed as follows: - Seizing approximately 2.9 tons of expired materials and destroying them - Seizing 6.3 tons (of food supplies, cosmetics and cosmetics) that do not carry an identification card in Arabic and materials that violate mandatory technical instructions. ---------- In the same context, 46 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide food and health security: During this, more than 7.6 tons of expired materials were seized and destroyed based on the decision of the competent authorities. - Seizing [6731 kg and 17973 strips] of sexual stimulants and nutritional supplements, which are prohibited from circulation and do not have licenses. They were handed over to the competent authorities. --------------- 11 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and in support of the agricultural sector and encouragement of local products, including: - 5 cases of agricultural products that do not carry agricultural permits or import permits or are banned from trading by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture. - 6 cases of animal products that do not car ry agricultural permits or import permits or are banned from trading by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture. 4 cases of illegal communications in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy: - 101 banned postal parcels were seized. - 53 postal parcels were seized that did not have licenses from the Ministry of Communications. The seized items were handed over to the Ministry pending completion of legal procedures. One case in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority, during which: - 17 tons of soil coming from Israel were seized, which is in violation of Palestinian regulations and laws, and it was returned to its source. Finally, the Customs Control Authority stresses to citizens the importance of their role in submitting reports on spoiled and expired goods via the toll-free number 132 or via the Authority's official Facebook page.
