The statement explained that the military operation targeted a gathering of militants while they were planning attacks, noting that weapons and vehicles in their possession were destroyed.
The Somali army, with support from local forces and international partners, continues its intensive military operations aimed at regaining control of vital areas and cutting off supply routes for the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab militant group.
