1st Syrian Civil Defence Team Arrives in Doha for Lekhwiya’s Training Program

Doha: The first batch of Syrian Civil Defence "White Helmets" teams arrived in Doha on Saturday to participate in a special training program supervised by the Internal Security Force's (Lekhwiya) Qatar International Search and Rescue Group. Running from February 23 to March 20, the training program is held with the aim of enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise between both sides in the field of search and rescue.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program includes a series of training courses and field exercises designed to develop the Syrian team's skills in dealing with disasters and humanitarian crises. It will also feature intensive field drills to improve the team's abilities in search and rescue operations and handling emergency situations.

Qatar International Search and Rescue Group commander Major Khalid Abdullah Al Humaidi said that the first phase of the training program for the White Helmets has begun, as part of the cooperation agreement between the two sides. Major Al Humaidi praised this cooperation, which reflects the commitment to providing support and training for the White Helmets, who make tremendous efforts in responding to disasters and humanitarian crises.

The Qatar International Search and Rescue Group commander said that this program will enhance international cooperation and knowledge exchange between both sides, expressing hope for its success.

For his part, Director of the Syrian Civil Defense "White Helmets" Raed Al Saleh said that this partnership is a strategic step to strengthen the capabilities of Syrian Civil Defence teams and develop their skills in search and rescue, learning about the latest technologies and tools used in the domain worldwide, and exchanging expertise with a select group of specialists in this vital field.

Al Saleh said that the training will significantly enhance response efforts and saving lives, expressing his eagerness to exchange expertise and knowledge with colleagues at Lekhwiya and extending his gratitude to the State of Qatar, its government and people, and Lekhwiya for their continuous support for humanitarian efforts, wishing for more cooperation to serve affected communities and support anyone in need of assistance in Syria.
