Qatar national football team concluded their preparations to face off Mexican national team at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, USA, on Monday morning, as part of Group B's 2nd round of matches in the group stage of the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup hosted by the US and Canada from June 24 - 16 July.
Within the same group, Honduras will play at the same time against Haiti, at the Bank of America stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Coach of the Qatari national team Carlos Queiroz led the training session, which took place at the San Jose Earthquakes Club stadium in California today. In his notes to the players, he spoke about their performance against Honduras and stressed the need to address some mistakes and play with great focus throughout the match.
The training session was attended by HE President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, QFA Vice President Mohammed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, and QFA Secretary General Mansour Al Ansari, as well as Chief Sports Officer at Aspire Academy Tim Cahill.
All players participated in the training, except for striker Al Moez Ali, who will miss the national team's match against Mexico, after he missed their matches against Honduras and Haiti due to injury.
The technical staff of the national team sought to implement some tactical and tactical aspects and the style of play that the team will follow against the Mexican national team. Qatar are featuring at the Gold Cup as a guest side for the second time at a special invitation from Concacaf under the cooperation agreement with the Qatar Football Association.
