Cairo: The 22nd meeting of the Arab electronic media committee commenced at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, with representatives from ministries of information and relevant media bodies in member states discussing several issues related to regulating and developing Arab digital media and enhancing its security. According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting's agenda is topped by following up on the implementation of Arab Information Ministers Council Resolution No. 566. The committee is discussing recommendations from a panel on cybersecurity, focusing on fortifying Arab websites and platforms against hacking and cyberattacks. Additionally, there is deliberation on the recommendations of the working group tasked with monitoring and studying electronic games that contain scenes of violence or promote terrorism, and their potential impact on Arab societal security. This meeting is part of the preparations for the 104th regular session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the 22nd regular session of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, both scheduled to be held in Kuwait in February.
