23 Killed in Armed Attacks in Benue State, Nigeria

Benue State: At least 23 people have been killed in separate armed attacks in Benue State, central Nigeria, in the latest wave of violence to hit the region. A state official reported that the armed attacks took place in four villages, leading to the confirmed deaths.

According to Qatar News Agency, the attacks resulted in eight fatalities in Ukum, nine in nearby Logo, and three each in Goma and Kwande. Several others sustained injuries during these incidents.

Over the past month, Benue State has witnessed a surge in armed attacks, which have claimed at least 56 lives. Militant violence remains a persistent issue in central and northern Nigeria, often characterized by kidnappings and the deliberate targeting of civilians.
