2nd Captain Saeed Al Misned Futsal Championship Scheduled for Holy Ramadan in Al Khor

Al Khor: The organizing committee of the Captain Saeed Al Misned Futsal Championship has announced the second edition of the Ramadan championship, set to take place from March 3 to 12.

According to Qatar News Agency, the tournament is being patronized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in collaboration with the Qatar Football Association (QFA), Aspire Zone Foundation, the Qatar Police Sports Federation, and Al Khor SC. The event will be hosted at Al Bayt Stadium's outdoor playgrounds in the city of Al Khor.

The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Mohammed Mubarak Al Mohannadi, CEO of the tournament and a member of the QFA's veterans, alongside representatives from the participating teams. The 12 teams competing in the tournament have been divided into three groups. The format includes a single-stage first round, with the top two teams from each group and the best third-placed teams advancing to the quarterfinals.

On Monday, Um Al Jamaim will play against Al Dhakhira in the opening match, followed by Barkan Falcons versus Um Al Afai, and Al Khor taking on Al Wakra in Group A. The following day, the captain team will confront Madinat Khalifa, Al Qurain will face Haloul, and Al Ghuwayriah will compete with Al Taawon in Group B.

Each team comprises 12 players, with 6 players on the field at a time. Group stage matches will last 40 minutes, while knockout rounds will extend to 50 minutes, officiated by referees accredited by QFA.

Prizes have been allocated for both individual and group achievements. The champion will be awarded QR30,000, and the runner-up will receive QR20,000. Additional prizes will be given for the best player, striker, and goalkeeper.

Mohammed Mubarak Al Mohannadi expressed his hope for a successful tournament, emphasizing the technical aspect and wishing success to all teams. He highlighted the initiative as a tribute to Captain Saeed Al Misned's legacy and his significant contributions to Qatari football. Al Mohannadi also praised the efforts of organizers and the Qatar Police Sports Federation for their dedication to this event.
