Doha: The Qatar Air Sports Committee (QASC), operating under the Joint Special Forces, is set to organize the 47th CISM World Military Parachuting Championship (CISM Qatar 2025) at Umm Al Shukhout Airfield in Doha, from Nov. 15 to 23. The tournament will showcase performances of 320 parachutists representing 30 countries in three events for both men and women: Formation Skydiving (4-Way), Style, and Accuracy Landing.
According to Qatar News Agency, the organizing committee chaired by HE Commander of the Joint Special Forces and Chair of QASC, Brig. Gen. Mohammed bin Zayed Al Otaibi, affirmed that all preparations have been primed to kickstart this event, with the committee recruiting all its manpower and accumulated expertise to deliver an incredible tournament befitting Qatar's standing and reputation as the capital of global sports. All participants in this tournament, and in the event of Doha as the capital of sports and peace, are warmly welcomed. The supreme organizing committee has finalized all preparations ahead of this extraordinary event that befits Qatar's standing and the world's confidence, alongside the CISM family's trust in the nation's outstanding capabilities in hosting major global tournaments, Al Otaibi emphasized.
For his part, Secretary-General of QASC, Captain Hazza Hamad Al Attiyah, underlined that all preparations by the CISM family have been completed. He described the event as a challenge in terms of organization and celebration. Al Attiyah stressed that there is profound confidence in Qatar's capabilities in organizing this tournament and showcasing it at a high level of competence, wishing all participants Godspeed.
All participating delegates have begun arriving in Doha, with arrivals expected to be completed by Wednesday, in preparation for participation in this global tournament. The opening activities will begin on Friday with a technical meeting at the conference hall of Umm Al Shukhout Airport, spearheaded by the organizing committee. The session will address all technical, organizational, and judging matters, followed by the registration of participating squads in Formation Skydiving, Style, and Accuracy Landing.
Organizers will also brief participants on anti-doping measures and other technical aspects related to the competition. Concurrently, official training sessions for all participating teams of both genders will commence according to scheduled programs, including several practices jumps for each team. The supreme committee conducted numerous rehearsals to ensure that committees are on full standby for the simple opening ceremony, with the rehearsals demonstrating precise organization for this long-awaited event, which includes the participation of leading nations in this sport.
Meanwhile, the Qatari squad continues its intensive daily training in preparation for the tournament, with high morale, focus, and discipline.
