3rd QRCS Annual Scientific Conference Kicks Off in Doha

Doha: The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) launched the 3rd edition of its annual scientific conference, which will last for three days, under the title "Musculoskeletal/Neurological Disorders and Pain Management in Primary Health Care". The opening day of the conference was attended by several high-profile officials, including HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim bin Saad Al Mahmoud and HE QRCS Secretary-General Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE QRCS President Yousef bin Ali Al Khater emphasized the significance of the conference in uniting experts and specialists from various health institutions in Qatar. Over the course of three days, these professionals will engage in discussions on vital medical topics, sharing experiences and insights to enhance the quality of medical services and address evolving challenges in the medical field.

HE Al Khater noted that the conference is gaining recognition as an important annual scientific forum that gathers top professionals in Qatar dedicated to advancing medical practice and community health. He highlighted QRCS's recent accreditation as an educational organization for continuing professional development for five years, reflecting a successful partnership with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).

The conference's focus this year is on "Musculoskeletal/Neurological Disorders and Pain Management in Primary Health Care", addressing the increasing burden these conditions pose globally. Ghanem Salman Al-Sulaiti, Director of the QRCS Training, Research, and Development Center and Chairman of the Conference, emphasized the need for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, citing statistics from the World Health Organization on the prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease.

The event is supported by strategic partnerships with the MoPH, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), along with participation from the private sector through Servier Medical Company. The conference agenda includes pre-conference workshops, main conference tracks, and parallel sessions for pharmacists and physiotherapy and rehabilitation practitioners, featuring 61 sessions delivered by 58 speakers and moderated by 35 facilitators from diverse healthcare providers across the nation.
