4.1-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Turkiye’s Gaziantep Province

Gaziantep: A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Nurdagi district of Gaziantep province in southern Turkiye on Saturday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Turkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that the quake measured 4.1 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located in the Nurdagi district. AFAD detailed that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 7.82 kilometers beneath the surface. There have been no reports of casualties or material damage so far.

On the same day, a separate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck the Sindirgi district of Balikesir province in western Turkiye. This incident comes in the wake of a devastating earthquake on February 6, 2023, which claimed the lives of more than 50,000 people, left thousands injured, and caused widespread destruction to infrastructure across several provinces.
