4.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Fiji Coast in Pacific Ocean

Fiji: An earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Fiji in the South Pacific Ocean on Tuesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred south of Fiji at a depth of 548.4 km and 23,598 km south of the Pacific Ocean, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

Fiji lies within the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region frequently struck by earthquakes and aftershocks, some of which can be powerful.
