4.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes South of Kermadec Islands Off New Zealand

Doha: An earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Sunday the south of the Kermadec Islands, off the coast of New Zealand. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 309.2 km, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

According to Qatar News Agency, there are no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake. The Kermadec Islands are located about 1,000 km northeast of New Zealand's North Island and are often exposed to strong earthquakes.
