4.6-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Eastern Ethiopia

Awash: An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck on Sunday in Awash town, located in eastern Ethiopia.

According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey (USGS) stated that the earthquake's epicenter was 10 km away from Awash town and occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Currently, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage resulting from the earthquake.

Ethiopia frequently experiences earthquakes and volcanic activity as it is situated within the Main Ethiopian Rift (MER), a geologically active region.
