Solomon Islands: An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean on Tuesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 96 kilometers from the Lata area of the islands, at a depth of 56 kilometers.
So far, there have been no reports of damage or casualties from the earthquake. The Solomon Islands are located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
