Doha:South Sandwich Islands: A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck the South Sandwich Islands, a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic Ocean, on Wednesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 10 kilometers below the surface, as reported by the US Geological Survey.

The South Sandwich Islands form part of the archipelago of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, which is a British Overseas Territory.
