Doha: Four Israelis were killed and 16 others injured, some seriously, in a shooting attack in occupied East Jerusalem, Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported, citing Israeli media.

According to Qatar News Agency, reports indicated that the four Israelis succumbed to critical wounds sustained during the attack, while the attackers were shot at the scene. Authorities responded by closing roads leading to the area as large numbers of police and security forces were deployed.

Medical crews were actively involved in treating the wounded and transporting them to nearby hospitals to receive further medical attention.
