Pizarro: A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck on Tuesday in Pizarro province, northwest Colombia. The tremor was recorded at a depth of 39.4 kilometers, as reported by the US Geological Survey. According to Qatar News Agency, the region has a history of seismic activity, recalling the devastating 6.1-magnitude earthquake in 1999. That disaster resulted in 1,185 fatalities, left 700 individuals unaccounted for, injured at least 4,750 people, and displaced approximately 250,000 residents. The city of Armenia bore the brunt of the destruction during that catastrophic event.
