Afghanistan: A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck the border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan Monday, with no reports of casualties so far. The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 105.1 kilometers.
According to Qatar News Agency, Afghanistan is frequently affected by earthquakes, particularly in the Hindu Kush mountain range, located near the junction of the Eurasian and Indian tectonic plates. A series of earthquakes measuring up to 6.3 on the Richter scale had struck Herat Province in western Afghanistan in October 2023.
