5.2-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes US Alaska

Adak: A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Wednesday the Adak area in the US State of Alaska.

According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred approximately 146 km southwest of Adak, at a depth of 39.9 km.

So far, there have been no reports of damage or casualties from the earthquake. Alaska is located above the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area where tectonic plates meet, and their friction with each other leads to strong seismic and volcanic activity.
