According to Qatar News Agency, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 192 kilometers. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far. The Philippines is located in the "Ring of Fire" in the Pacific Ocean, where about 90% of the world's earthquakes occur. This region is known for its frequent seismic and volcanic activities, making the area particularly susceptible to earthquakes. The last major earthquake to impact the country had a magnitude of 7.1 on the Richter scale, claiming the lives of more than 220 people in central Philippines in October 2013. This recent event in Tarlac City serves as a reminder of the persistent seismic activity in the region.
