51st Arab Labor Conference to Commence in Cairo on Saturday

Cairo: The 51st Arab Labor Conference is set to commence on Saturday in Cairo, organized by the Arab Labor Organization (ALO).

According to Qatar News Agency, an ALO statement released on Wednesday highlighted the significance of the eight-day event as it marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the ALO and the 80th anniversary of the League of Arab States. In a gesture of appreciation, 25 Arab labor pioneers will be honored for their exceptional contributions and dedicated efforts towards labor issues and the advancement of development and production in the Arab world.

The conference will feature discussions on the Director-General's report of the ALO, which emphasizes the importance of economic diversification as a strategic imperative amidst economic crises and technological and digital transformations. This diversification is seen as vital for enhancing sustainability and competitiveness within Arab countries. The report also delves into the current state of the Arab economy, shedding light on its structural challenges and weaknesses.

Participants will also review the activities and programs that the ALO has implemented over the past year as part of its approved plan to address the needs of the three production stakeholders. These initiatives include a range of activities such as training courses, seminars, forums, and conferences, while also ensuring geographical distribution and diversity. Additionally, the ALO's participation in numerous Arab, regional, and international activities and conferences will be discussed.
