Riyadh: The 6th Saudi Conference on Mathematics and its Applications commenced at King Saud University in Riyadh, organized by the Saudi Society for Mathematical Sciences at King Saud University. According to Qatar News Agency, more than 60 international experts and speakers in various fields of mathematics are participating, including seven speakers from some of the world's most prestigious universities. The conference, running until April 17, features eight scientific sessions covering topics such as the fundamentals of mathematics, differential equations, numerical analysis, scientific computing, actuarial and financial mathematics, probability and statistics, data science, mathematics in science and engineering, mathematics for sustainability, and life sciences. The conference emphasizes the role mathematics plays in scientific and technological progress. It aims to highlight recent research efforts in mathematical sciences and their applications, providing an opportunity for researchers to present thei r work and exchange knowledge with specialized experts. Additionally, the event promotes research cooperation and interdisciplinary integration by facilitating communication between mathematicians and practitioners from fields like engineering, physics, computer science, finance, and life sciences. This collaboration seeks to address global challenges such as climate change, healthcare, and sustainable development through mathematical solutions. The conference is part of the Society's biennial series, supporting young researchers and graduate students by offering a platform to present their work and receive feedback from specialists.
