The Somali army announced the killing of nine members of Al-Shabaab movement linked to Al-Qaeda, in cooperation with local forces in South West State on Thursday. Somali army said that the military operation took place in the village of Taflow, 28 km south of the city of Baardheere in Bay Province, southern Somalia, the Somali national news agency (SONNA) reported. During the military operation, seven Kalashnikov rifles, a machine gun, and ammunition boxes were confiscated. The Somali army has intensified military operations in recent days against Al-Shabaab movement, and for over a decade now, they have been waging battles against the movement, and have successfully recaptured several areas from them.
