Minister of Social Development and Family Engages in Key Discussions at UN on Women’s Empowerment

New York: HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi actively participated in several important meetings on the sidelines of the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Her engagement included contributing to the ministerial roundtable Beijing+30, where she emphasized the need to accelerate social protection efforts to promote the rights of women and girls, thereby creating an empowering environment for them in various domains.

According to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency also participated in a second ministerial roundtable focusing on national mechanisms for achieving gender parity and the empowerment of women and girls. Here, she reiterated the importance of the commitment to implement the Beijing Platform for Action by ensuring the allocation of necessary resources and expediting its implementation at the national level.

She further mentioned that these discussions aim to contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring that women and girls have access to opportunities and resources that enhance their societal roles. Her Excellency shared insights on financial inclusion and investment, highlighting Qatar's support for international efforts to address common crises and challenges.

Additionally, she took part in a partners' roundtable discussing the significance of core resources for women and emerging financing partners, where she explored ways to increase women's economic and social participation. Qatar's delegation to the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women was led by HE the Minister of Social Development and Family.
