Ordos: The Asian Athletics Association (AAA) has announced the launch of the inaugural Asian U23 Athletics Championships aimed at fostering competitiveness and developing the skills of athletes of this age group. The AAA has selected the Chinese city of Ordos to host the first edition of the championships, which will take place from July 9 to 12. According to Qatar News Agency, AAA President Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad stated that the AAA has been implementing a development strategy for years, creating new championships and nurturing talent across the continent. He emphasized that the AAA's primary focus is on younger athletes, as they represent the future of Asian athletics and are also present in international competitions. The AAA President stressed the importance of continued development and support, adhering to the best practices of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). The AAA had approved the organization of a special championship for jump competitions and assigned its organizatio n to the Chinese city of Chongqing this year. This year will also witness the organization of the 22nd Asian U20 Athletics Championships in Hong Kong in May.
