Riyadh: Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, participated in a session titled "Beyond Sharm El Sheikh: The Gulf Amidst Conflicts in the Middle East," as part of the Mediterranean Dialogues 2025 Forum held in Naples, Italy. Dr. Al Ansari emphasized the critical role of the Gulf in consolidating regional stability and fostering dialogue and diplomacy amidst the ongoing political and security challenges in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Al Ansari noted that recent developments, including the Israeli attack on Doha last September, have prompted the GCC states to reassess their approach to collective security. This event marked a turning point, leading to a reevaluation of regional and international partnership priorities and an enhancement of security coordination in response to growing threats.

Addressing the situation in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Al Ansari underscored that any future political or security arrangements must adhere to international legitimacy and align with the will of the Palestinian people. He emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive vision for a two-state solution as the sole path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace.

Dr. Al Ansari asserted that despite facing security challenges, the State of Qatar remains committed to its role as a peacemaking force and effective mediator in the region. Qatar prioritizes the promotion of political dialogue and the support of humanitarian responses, particularly concerning the Palestinian issue.

Highlighting the significance of Qatari-Gulf, American, and European partnerships in enhancing regional security, Dr. Al Ansari stated that the current phase demands multilateral cooperation. Such cooperation is essential to confront crises and prevent their escalation, thereby maintaining regional stability and serving the interests of the people.
