Doha: Al Ahli and their Bahraini guests Khalidiya played to a goalless draw Wednesday, at Al Thumama Stadium in the opening round of Group B in the AFC Champions League 2 football tournament. Both teams earned their first point, joining Turkmenistan's Arkadag and Uzbekistan's Andijan, who also drew 0-0 earlier in the day.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Ahli adopted a 4-3-2-1 formation and showed relative dominance early on, notably reaching Khalidiya's area with a powerful shot from Abdulrahman Mustafa outside the box, which was saved by Ricardo Silva in the 9th minute.
