Al Ain: Al Ain FC of the UAE drew 1-1 with Uzbekistan's Pakhtakor in the final match of Group West in the AFC Champions League. Al Ain's hopes of advancing to the Round of 16 took a hit as they failed to win for the sixth consecutive match. According to Qatar News Agency, Soufiane Rahimi scored for Al Ain in the 49th minute, while Pakhtakor's Otabek Jurakuziev opened the scoring early in the 6th minute. Al Ain is now in second-to-last place with just two points, while Pakhtakor sits in 10th with four points. Al Ain faced significant challenges during the match, including being reduced to 10 men after Yahya Nader was sent off in the 55th minute following a VAR review. Additionally, the team struggled with the poor condition of Pakhtakor's pitch, which impacted their performance. Under the new system, the top eight teams from the unified group will qualify for the Round of 16. With their current standing, Al Ain's chances of advancing have become increasingly difficult.
