Tabriz: Al Duhail suffered a 2-1 defeat against hosts Tractor of Iran in their match Monday at Yadegar-e Emam Stadium in Tabriz, as part of the sixth round of the West Zone matches in the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Elite Group. Al Duhail's points tally remains at seven, while Tractor raised their total to 14 points, securing their place in the Round of 16.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Duhail took the lead in the first half through a Benjamin Borrego penalty in the 35th minute, before Tractor responded with two goals from Shoja Khalilzadeh and Amir Hosseinzadeh in the 51st and 90+2 minutes, respectively.

Al Duhail threatened their opponent's goal from the first minute when their striker, Krzysztof Piatek, received the ball outside the penalty area before firing a powerful low shot with his right foot just wide of the right post. After that, Tractor tried to control the midfield, relying on crosses into the box. They had a chance when Amir Hosseinzadeh shot from outside the area towards the center of the goal, but it was easily gathered by goalkeeper Bautista Burki in the 16th minute.

Al Duhail capitalized on a Tractor defensive error, winning a penalty after Mohammad Naderi fouled Edmilson Junior inside the box. Benjamin Bourigeaud converted the penalty, sending the ball to the left of goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand in the 35th minute. The first half ended with Al Duhail leading 1-0.

In the second half, the Iranian team tried to pressure their opponents' goal, and their pressure paid off in the 51st minute when Tibor Halilovic's powerful free kick from outside the box struck the post before rebounding to defender Shoja Khalilzadeh, who tapped it into the net. Then, Al Duhail's Luis Alberto had a chance when he sent a powerful free kick from outside the box over the left corner in the 63rd minute.

Both teams exchanged attempts during the remaining minutes of the match, with the home team having the upper hand. They managed to score a second goal in stoppage time when Hosseinzadeh advanced with the ball on the edge of the area before unleashing a powerful and precise shot into the top right corner of the net in the 90+2 minute, ending the match with a valuable 2-1 victory for Tractor.
