Doha: The Competitions Committee of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) convened a workshop on Monday to confer on proposals for advancing tournaments, strengthening regulatory work, and raising the efficiency of the AGCFF-organized contests to keep up with the aspirations of Gulf football. Extending until Tuesday, the workshop brought together members of the committee and representatives from the Gulf federations.
According to Qatar News Agency, Secretary-General of AGCFF, Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, highlighted that the event constitutes an important launching pad towards developing the enforced regulations for organizing Gulf tournaments as the core pillar to ensure their successes, foremost of which was the Arab Gulf Cup, which achieved remarkable successes. Al Rumaihi underlined that he is confident in the upcoming edition, which is poised to be held in Saudi Arabia to enhance these successes, noting the first Gulf Legends Cup held in Kuwait, which garnered significant approbation.
For his part, Chairman of the Competitions Committee at AGCFF, Dr. Khaled Abdulaziz Al Muqrin, stated that all operating committees look forward to advancing the operations system and keeping up with the rapid evolution in football. He stressed the importance of maximizing the utilization of this convention, which offers space for the members to confer on the regulatory rules and review the proposed amendments to the AGCFF's tournaments, including the Gulf Cups for national and youth teams, as well as the AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League.
On Tuesday, the workshop will complete the discussions on the agenda items, including the evaluation of the AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League 2024-2025, along with the proposals related to the upcoming editions of 2025-2026. The event will likewise highlight the avenues for organizing the upcoming edition in a perfect way that best suits the accomplishments of former players and their incredible contributions to Gulf football, in addition to the updates on everything that pertains to the committee's functions and its future development plans.
