Al Adaam, Palestine Clinch Victories in Al Thumama Ramadan Championship

Doha: The second edition of the Al Thumama Ramadan Championship reached full swing after being organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation at Al Furjan Stadium in Al Thumama.

According to Qatar News Agency, the competition is dedicated to age groups from 10 to 14, with the participation of seven teams: Palestine, Al Adaam, Al Zaeem, Al Janoub, Al Yarmouk, Tariq bin Ziyad, and Al Nosour. Al Adaam continued its winning streak in the tournament, defeating Al Janoub 2-0. The match between Al Zaeem and Al Yarmouk ended in a 0-0 draw, despite both teams performing well. Meanwhile, Palestine won against Tariq bin Ziyad 2-1, with the competition slated to continue Sunday with two clashes: Al Nosour vs. Al Zaeem and Palestine vs. Al Yarmouk.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Hassan Ali Al Ishaq, highlighted that the tournament witnesses fierce and tantalizing contests among all teams, noting that the event aims to achieve an array of societal and sporting objectives to enhance the societal spirit and tolerance values as an integral part of Qatari culture. The tournament represents a platform that brings together sports enthusiasts, along with its role in advancing young talent by identifying new players and supporting their sports careers, Al Ishaq added, affirming that the tournament doesn't focus solely on the competitive aspect, but rather maintains fitness throughout this holy month, with particular emphasis on balancing fasting, healthy physical activity, and study to ensure maximum utilization of both sports and academic achievements.

Abdullah Al Khatib, a player for Palestine, expressed his happiness at participating in this tournament, emphasizing that he and his teammates are proud of seizing this opportunity to compete in Qatar. Al Khatib applauded the warm reception the delegation received from the organizing committee in Doha.
