Omar Seko was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 3rd, 9th, and 74th minutes, while Dutch midfielder Michel Vlap added Al Ahli's third in the 22nd minute.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Shamal responded through Spain's Alex Collado, who headed home in the 7th minute, and Mohammed Omar, who pulled a goal back early in the second half. The match burst into life from the outset, with Al Ahli taking an early lead before a rapid exchange of goals saw them establish a 3-1 advantage by half-time. Despite sustained pressure from Al Shamal after the break, including several close chances, Seko completed his hat-trick against the run of play to seal the win.

The result lifted Al Ahli to 15 points in ninth place, helping them recover from last week's defeat to Umm Salal. Al Shamal suffered another setback, remaining on 21 points in third place, at least temporarily.
