Al-Ahli Crowned Saudi Super Cup Champions over Al-Nassr

Doha: Al-Ahli won the Saudi Super Cup in football after defeating Al-Nassr 5-3 on penalties, following a 2-2 draw in regular time in the match held in Hong Kong on Saturday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Nassr's goals were scored by Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo in the 41st minute from a penalty kick, and Croatian Marcelo Brozovic in the 82nd minute. Al-Ahli responded with goals from Franck Kessie in the 45+6th minute and Brazilian Roger Ibanez da Silva in the 89th minute, leading to a penalty shootout, which Al-Ahli won 5-3.

Al-Nassr reached the final after a victory over Al-Ittihad with a score of 2-1, while Al-Ahli secured their place by defeating Al-Qadsiah 5-1.

This edition marks the 12th Saudi Super Cup, with five clubs having won previous editions: Al-Hilal leading with five titles, Al-Nassr with two, and one title each for Al-Fateh, Al-Shabab, Al-Ahli, and Al-Ittihad.
