Doha: The Al Arab newspaper team claimed victory in the 11th Ramadan Press 6v6 Football Tournament, securing the title after a decisive 3-0 win against the Al Sharq newspaper team in the final match held on Saturday at the Al Arabi SC hall. The tournament saw impressive performances from various media outlets, culminating in a competitive final showdown.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Al Raya newspaper team clinched second place in the tournament after defeating the Qatar News Agency (QNA) team with a similar 3-0 scoreline. The Al Sharq newspaper team secured the third spot, while the QNA team finished in fourth place, rounding out the highly anticipated event.
The crowning ceremony was led by HE President of the Qatar Press Center, Saad bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, who honored the top teams and individuals. Hamza Ali emerged as the tournament's top scorer with a tally of 8 goals, and Mahmoud Hassan from Al Raya newspaper was recognized as the best player of the tournament. Al Arab's goalkeeper, Yassin Yunus, received accolades as the best goalkeeper, while their coach, Imad Al Barqawi, was named the best coach. The ideal coach award went to Ali Salat of the QNA team.
Al Rumaihi expressed satisfaction with the successful organization of the tournament's 11th edition, commending the collaborative efforts that ensured its smooth execution. He highlighted how such sporting events foster camaraderie among media professionals, emphasizing that the tournament serves as an annual platform for enhancing cooperation and communication within the media community.
