Doha: Al Arabi defeated Al Shamal 24-17 on Monday in the second round of the 2025-26 Qatar Men's Handball League, bringing their total to six points. Al Shamal remains at two.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Duhail also claimed victory, beating Al Khor 30-22 to reach six points, while Al Khor stay at two. Meanwhile, Al Rayyan overcame Al Gharafa 29-23, lifting their total to six points, while Al Gharafa holds four.
The second round began Sunday with two matches: Al Sadd edged past Al Ahli 27-26, and Al Wakrah defeated Qatar SC 24-19.
Al Arabi enters the season as defending champions, having won the league title in 2024-25. Al Duhail finished second last season, with Al Rayyan in third.
Al Rayyan holds the record for most league titles, with 15 championships to its name. Al Sadd follows with nine. Al Duhail has won five times, Al Ahli and Al Jaish four each, Al Arabi three, Qatar SC twice, and both Al Gharafa and Al Wakrah once.
