Al Arabi Continue Winning Streak in Handball Federation Cup

Doha: Al Arabi continued their winning streak in the 2025/2026 Men's Handball Federation Cup, defeating Al Sadd 30-27 in their match on Monday as part of the fourth round of the competition.

According to Qatar News Agency, in two other matches, Al Khor defeated Al Ahli 31-21, and Al Duhail triumphed over Qatar SC with a score of 37-25. The fourth round action is set to continue on Tuesday with two more matches: Al Shamal will face the Youth National Team, while Al Gharafa is scheduled to play against the Junior National Team.

The tournament is being held under a new format this season, with the participating teams divided into two groups. The first group includes Al Ahli, Al Shamal, Al Sadd, Al Khor, Al Arabi, and the Youth National Team. Meanwhile, the second group consists of Al Duhail, Al Gharafa, Al Wakrah, Qatar SC, and the Junior National Team. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

The Men's Handball Federation Cup is taking place during a break in the league to allow international players to join the Qatari national team, which is preparing for the 22nd Asian Men's Handball Championship scheduled for next January in Kuwait. This tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Championship.

It's worth noting that Al Arabi won the title last season (2024/2025), with Al Rayyan finishing as runners-up and Al Duhail securing third place.
