Doha: Al Arabi were crowned the Qatar Cup basketball champions after a convincing 74-57 victory over Al Ahli in the final at the Al Gharafa Hall on Saturday. This victory marked Al Arabi's fourth Qatar Cup title following their previous triumphs in 2019, 2022, and 2023. Victor Dewayne Rod led the team to victory with an impressive 25 points, while Omar Rushdi contributed 15 points for Al Ahli. According to Qatar News Agency, QBF Secretary General Saadoun Sabah Al Kuwari expressed his happiness with the technical level displayed in the final. He congratulated the Al Arabi team on their victory and acknowledged the excitement and determination shown by both teams vying for the title. The Qatar Cup basketball tournament was first launched in 2014, with Al Arabi and Al Gharafa each winning the title four times. Other teams that have claimed the title include Al Rayyan in 2016, Qatar in 2018, Al Wakrah in 2020, and Al Sadd in 2023.
