Dubai, Qatar's Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah strengthened his lead in the provisional general standings of the Dubai International Baja, the 7th and final round of the World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas. The rally is running for three days between November 10 and 12.
Driving the Prodrive Hunter, Al Attiyah led Satuday's stages, along with his co-driver Matthieu Baumel, after recording a time of 2:43.14.1 hours, with a difference of 54.6 seconds ahead of his closest competitor, American Seth Quintero, who finished in 2nd place with a time of 2:44.08.7 hours, whilst Saudi driver Yazeed Al Rajhi securing the 3rd place with a time of 2:48.41.9 hours.
Following his winning of the stage on Friday recording the fastest time of 1:56.5 minutes and winning today's stages, Al Attiyah's overall time now tops overall standings at 2:45:10.6 hours, 58.8 seconds ahead of the Quintero, who is in second place with an overall time of 2:46:09.4 hours, whilst Al Rajhi came third with a total time of 2:52:40.8 hours.
The Qatari driver expressed his happiness at his victory in today's stages, hoping to maintain his lead in the second and final day tomorrow to win the title.
