Doha: Al Bidda SC signed a long-term agreement with the Netherlands' AFC Ajax to develop the club's youth. During a press conference held Monday at Stadium 974 on the occasion of signing the agreement that is set to last until 2029, HE Vice President of Al Bidda SC Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Thani highlighted Ajax Youth Academy's role in discovering and refining players of different age groups and establishing a promising generation. He explained that the agreement aims to develop Al Bidda SC's grassroots and benefit them with AFC Ajax's experience to lay a foundation for establishing the best local football academy in Qatar. Vice President of Al Bidda SC said that the youth development program will be sponsored by the Dutch club and will help develop the players' talents and refine their abilities to become great players in the club and in the national teams in the future. He praised Ajax Youth Academys acclaimed status globally as its alumni include legendary players in football. The academy will have a clear positive role in developing the youth at Al Bidda SC, which would also benefit Qatar's football and its development. Technical Director of AFC Ajax Alex Kroes expressed his confidence in the partnership with Al Bidda SC and pointed to the success of the international network of the Academy after Al Bidda SC joined it. Al Bidda SC shares the same visions as AFC Ajax. The same methods and beliefs will be applied when developing the youth on a wider global scale, Kroes added. Source: Qatar News Agency
