Al Duhail Announces Departure of Ziyech

Doha: Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech has officially left Al Duhail after his contract with the team expired, the club announced on Saturday. Al Duhail stated on its official account that Ziyech's contract concluded at the end of the 2024-2025 season and he will not be with the team for the upcoming stage.

According to Qatar News Agency, the 31-year-old joined Al Duhail last January as a free agent after terminating his contract with Turkish club Galatasaray. Before his move to Al Duhail, Ziyech had several stints with various clubs since beginning his career in 2015. He played for England's Chelsea, Dutch side Ajax, Twente, and Heerenveen, most recently with Turkiye's Galatasaray.

During his time at Galatasaray this season, he appeared in 11 matches across all competitions, providing one assist. With Galatasaray, Ziyech played five Turkish league matches, three Europa League matches, two Champions League qualifiers, and one Turkish Cup match.

Ziyech featured in nine matches for Al Duhail in the Qatar Stars League, scoring one goal. Al Duhail finished second in the Qatar Stars League this season. The team also lost the Qatar Cup final to Al Sadd and was eliminated from HH the Amir Cup in the quarterfinals by Al Rayyan.
