Doha: Al Duhail SC announced Thursday the official signing of Senegalese Youssouf Sebali from Spanish club Real Betis. The club confirmed on its official social media accounts that Sebali is set to become one of the team's main players for the upcoming 2025-2026 sports season, which will commence in less than three months.
According to Qatar News Agency, the club emphasized that Sebali brings significant technical expertise to the first football team. His extensive experience as a right-back, coupled with his tenure at various clubs in the French and Spanish leagues, is expected to bolster Al Duhail's performance in the coming season. Sebali, aged 32, has an illustrious career that includes winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup with France in 2013 before he opted to represent Senegal, achieving victory in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations. He also participated with the Senegalese national team in the 2018 World Cup held in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Al Duhail concluded the 2024-25 season in second place in the league standings and will represent Qatar in the AFC Champions League preliminary round. They are scheduled to compete against Iranian side Sepahan next September. In preparation for the upcoming challenges, the club has appointed Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi, succeeding Christophe Galette, and recently secured Polish striker Piatek to strengthen their squad.
