This came after the horse came in 2nd in the Prix La Coupe (Group 3) at the ParisLongchamp racecourse in June. Al Hakeem partook in only one race during 2023 Following an injury in the Prix d'Harcourt (Group 2) at the ParisLongchamp racecourse. Woodchuck of David Dromard (trainer Nicolas Bellanger and jockey Christophe Soumillon) came 2nd, while Elusive Princess of LNJ Foxwoods (trainer Jean Dubois and jockey Mickael Barzalona) came 3rd. Demuro stated after the win that the team behind Al Hakeem did a great job at bringing him back to the race and the horse is expected to bring more success as this is only his second participation this year and the level of performance is sure to improve more.
