Doha: Al Noor Center for the Blind and Qatar University: Al Noor Center for the Blind and Qatar University (QU) have entered into a cooperation agreement to conduct professional training courses and workshops aimed at developing the skills and capabilities of individuals with visual impairment. The initiative will also benefit interested parents, university students, teachers, and service providers.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was formalized in the presence of Mishal Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Al Noor Center, and Dr. Muna Al Marzouqi, Chief Strategy and Development Officer at QU. Al Nuaimi emphasized that this collaboration marks a significant step in empowering those with visual impairment, enabling them to become effective members of the community. The agreement initiates a new phase of collaboration to provide exceptional training services that address the needs of the visually impaired, enhancing their capabilities to face occupational and existential challenges.
Al Noor Center is committed to ensuring the program's success by deploying top talents and expertise to achieve the shared vision of serving the Qatari community, noted Al Nuaimi. Meanwhile, Dr. Al Marzouqi pointed out that the programs offered by QU's Community Service and Continuing Education Center play a crucial role in enhancing participants' skills and cognitive development. These programs are important for improving occupational rehabilitation, which positively impacts the performance of both public and private institutions in Qatar.
Dr. Al Marzouqi further stated that advancing national competencies is vital for economic and social development, especially in light of the rapid technological advancements and the digital revolution. She highlighted that the Community Service and Continuing Education Center has a future-oriented vision aligned with QU's overall strategy. The center aims to be a hub of expertise in Qatar through continual expansion and the introduction of innovative training courses that benefit the community and its members.
The agreement stipulates that QU will provide necessary facilities for conducting training courses and workshops, promote the programs through its media channels, and issue certified attendance certificates to participants. In return, Al Noor Center will supply essential training materials and professional trainers in various agreed-upon areas to ensure effective program implementation and achieve the set objectives.
