Gaza - Ma'an - The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced the detonation of a minefield in military vehicles and engineering equipment belonging to the occupation forces in the central Gaza Strip. The Brigades said in a press statement on Saturday: "Qassam fighters were able to detonate a minefield prepared in advance in a number of enemy vehicles and engineering equipment in the military sites area east of Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip." It explained that Qassam fighters monitored the landing of helicopters to evacuate the dead and wounded in the ranks of the occupation army. Qassam confirmed that an Israeli personnel carrier was targeted with a "Yassin 105" shell east of Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip. Earlier on Friday, the Brigades reported fierce clashes between its fighters and the occupation forces in the Netzarim axis, the Zeitoun neighborhood, and Tel al-Sultan with explosive devices and anti-tank and anti-personnel shells. Official Israeli data indic ates that 695 soldiers and officers have been killed since the beginning of the war, 332 of them since the start of the ground attack on Gaza, while 4,357 others were injured. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation, with American support, has been waging a war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 133,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than ten thousand missing, amid massive destruction and a deadly famine.
