Doha: The Al Raya newspaper underscored the importance of the Doha Forum 2025, which opens today under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The paper noted that the 2025 forum convenes at a highly sensitive global moment, marked by overlapping geopolitical and humanitarian challenges, while technological transformations continue to reshape the contours and balance of the international system.
According to Qatar News Agency, in its editorial titled "Doha Forum: An Interactive Platform for Advancing International Justice," Al Raya emphasized that the theme of the 23rd edition, "Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress", reflects the needs of a world on the edge of major shifts, from escalating geopolitical tensions to pressing humanitarian crises, and the technological boom redefining relations among states and concepts of security, economy, and knowledge.
The paper stressed that with the launch today of the 23rd edition of the forum under the patronage of HH the Amir, the State of Qatar reaffirms its role not only as host but as an active partner in shaping a better future. The forum remains a platform that combines wisdom with realism, awareness of challenges with confidence in overcoming them, in a world that requires greater political courage, human solidarity, and fair governance.
Al Raya noted that since its establishment 25 years ago, the Doha Forum has consolidated Qatar's position as an international platform bringing together heads of state, experts, and global institutions to examine current realities and envision a more just and stable future. This year's edition is described as exceptional in scale and substance, with more than 6,000 participants and 471 speakers from 160 countries, underscoring its role as a bridge for dialogue and a space for exchanging perspectives.
The editorial highlighted the forum's wide-ranging sessions addressing key global challenges, from mediation and the Gaza crisis to financing global health, strategies for artificial intelligence, and the dynamics of major power relations. These topics, it said, reflect the forum's recognition of the urgency of the current moment and the need to propose practical solutions that contribute to building a more balanced and equitable world.
Al Raya concluded that the opening of the Doha Forum today reinforces Qatar's steadfast commitment to multilateral diplomacy and renews its role as a nation that initiates, convenes, and contributes to shaping international dialogues that address the core challenges facing humanity.
