Doha: Al Raya newspaper affirmed that supporting diplomatic solutions aimed at consolidating security and stability at the regional and international levels is one of the firm pillars underpinning the State of Qatar's foreign policy and guiding its active engagement across various arenas.
According to Qatar News Agency, in its editorial titled "Qatar's Steadfast Support for the Diplomatic Approach," the newspaper said Doha continues to leverage its extensive relations and high-level contacts to bridge differences, contain tensions, and push toward just and sustainable political settlements, based on the conviction that constructive dialogue is the most effective means of addressing complex crises, regardless of their sensitivity or the intricacy of the parties involved.
The editorial noted that this Qatari approach comes amid a regional and international context marked by escalating crises and shrinking spaces for consensus, making the adoption of active diplomacy an indispensable strategic choice.
Al Raya added that, through its active diplomatic engagement, Qatar is closely concerned with developments in the region as an integral part of it, and calls, with full neutrality, for the use of diplomacy and mediation to resolve intractable disputes, particularly with regard to the Iranian file.
In this context, the newspaper pointed to Qatar's repeated affirmation of its support for the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman to reach a diplomatic solution acceptable to all parties concerning the nuclear program, noting that Qatar's position has consistently been clear.
The editorial stressed that such issues cannot be resolved through violence or violations of state sovereignty and territorial integrity, but rather through dialogue. It noted that Doha welcomed the convening of talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran in Muscat, considering them a positive step toward de-escalation and a restoration of negotiations as the optimal framework for addressing contentious issues.
Al Raya said this welcome reflects Doha's keenness to support every sincere effort that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region and to limiting the repercussions of tension on its peoples and resources.
The editorial continued that Qatar has renewed its full support for all efforts aimed at defusing crises through diplomatic channels, and its appreciation for the constructive role played by the Sultanate of Oman in hosting and facilitating the negotiations, alongside its ongoing efforts, in cooperation with a number of brotherly and friendly countries, to create an environment conducive to dialogue and enhance prospects for balanced understandings.
It noted that past experiences have shown that negotiations ultimately led to the signing of an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, stressing that the language of escalation and threats will not bring security and stability to the region nor address the roots of the dispute, but will instead lead to further complexity in a region that supplies the world with more than two-thirds of its global energy needs.
Al Raya concluded that, under these circumstances, sitting at the negotiating table is consolidated as the only path capable of producing realistic and sustainable solutions, as serious dialogue, when conducted with genuine political will, opens the door to balanced settlements that safeguard the interests of all parties.
