Doha: Qatari newspaper Al Raya highlighted the State of Qatar's continued efforts to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and defend their just cause, as well as Qatar's firm commitment to its approach as a mediating state and a leader in promoting peace and resolving conflicts through diplomatic means.
According to Qatar News Agency, in its editorial titled "The Reconstruction Committee Begins Its Work in Gaza," the newspaper noted the Qatari Committee's efforts in removing rubble, opening roads in Gaza, implementing its work in the northern municipalities, and facilitating the movement of citizens in the Strip. These efforts are part of Qatar's ongoing efforts to support the Palestinians and alleviate their suffering.
Al Raya stated that these efforts confirm Qatar's unwavering commitment to standing by the Palestinian people and supporting them in the face of harsh humanitarian conditions, out of its belief in their right to a dignified life and security.
It added Qatar's supportive stances for the Palestinian people were not merely words on paper or abstract statements, but actions that made a tangible difference on the ground. Driven by its humanitarian and moral duty towards the Palestinians, Qatar continued to send aid and humanitarian and development assistance to the Palestinian people. During the recent brutal aggression against the people of Gaza, Qatar played significant diplomatic, humanitarian, and relief roles and efforts, culminating in a ceasefire agreement in Gaza through its joint mediation with its partners. This contributed to alleviating the suffering of the people of Gaza by delivering humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people and releasing prisoners and detainees.
The newspaper emphasized that Qatar was among the first countries to stand by the people of Gaza to alleviate their suffering. Through its relief and development projects in the Strip, it conveyed a message of love, peace, and solidarity to the people of Gaza, reaffirming that Palestine and its people remain Qatar's foremost cause.
It continued by saying that the Qatari land bridge through Jordanian and Egyptian territories was launched to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, including shelter tents and food and medical supplies for more than 436,000 affected individuals in the Strip.
Al Raya concluded its editorial by stating that Qatar supports the Palestinian people's right to defend themselves and will always stand by them until they achieve their full and undiminished rights to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. Qatari projects in Gaza have no other goal than to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and provide the appropriate conditions for them to live with dignity on their land, without being dependent on anyone.
