Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah to Compete in West Asian Volleyball Championship in Kuwait

Al rayyan: Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah clubs are set to participate in the fourth edition of the West Asian Men's Volleyball Club Championship, which will be held in Kuwait from February 2 to 14. This championship acts as a qualifier for the Asian Club Championship, slated to take place in Indonesia from May 13 to 17.

According to Qatar News Agency,the countdown to the championship has begun, with top clubs from the region gearing up for the competition. The draw for the tournament is scheduled for January 20. Notably, Al Wakrah will make its debut in this championship, aiming to build on its recent success in the Qatar Men's Volleyball League, where it led the standings at the end of the first round.

Al Rayyan has a strong track record, having won the third edition of the tournament last year by defeating Al Salam of Oman 3-0 in the final. Al Arabi of Qatar secured the second position with 13 points and has previously won the 2023 and 2024 editions. The tournament will feature a single round-robin format, with teams accumulating points to determine the final standings.

Mohammed Salem Al Kuwari, Secretary General of the West Asian Volleyball Association, expressed to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the championship has consistently been successful, citing the high level of competition among participating teams. He emphasized the tournament's significance as a qualifier for the Asian Club Championship and praised Al Rayyan's achievements. Al Kuwari also expressed confidence in Al Wakrah's potential performance, highlighting the club's ongoing organizational and technical development.
