Al Rayyan Clinch Fourth Consecutive West Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship Title

Kuwait city: Qatar's Al Rayyan clinched their fourth consecutive West Asian Men's Volleyball Championship title after defeating Bahrain's Dar Kulaib 3-1 in the final match at the Kuwait Volleyball Federation Hall on Saturday.

According to Qatar News Agency, with this victory, Al Rayyan qualified for the Asian Champions League, representing the West Asian region. The event will be held in Indonesia in May. Al Rayyan secured the win with scores of 25-22, 25-22, 13-25, 25-18, showcasing a strong performance in a thrilling match where Dar Kulaib, the runner-up, proved a formidable opponent.

President of the Qatari and West Asian volleyball federations and Vice President of the Asian Volleyball Confederation Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari, President of the Arab and Bahraini volleyball federations Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and President of Kuwait SC Khalid bin Ali Al Ghanem presented Al Rayyan with the championship trophy and gold medals. Dar Kulaib of Bahrain received the silver medals, and Kuwait SC received the bronze medals.

In the third-place match, Kuwait SC concluded their participation in the tournament by securing third place after defeating Al Ahli of Bahrain in three straight sets (25-23, 25-16, 25-21). Al Ahli finished in fourth place.

General Supervisor of Volleyball at Al Rayyan club Nasser Al Maliki expressed his immense joy at the victory, emphasizing that it was an exceptional achievement by all standards. In press statements, Al Maliki said that the players lived up to their responsibilities and delivered a great performance against a strong team like Dar Kulaib, noting that winning for the fourth time in a row was not easy, but rather the result of continuous work, long planning, and administrative and technical support.
