Al rayyan: Al Rayyan maintained their strong start to the men's Qatar Volleyball League with a straight-sets victory over Al Gharafa on Wednesday, extending their lead at the top of the table.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Rayyan won 25-20, 25-14, and 25-19 at the Qatar Volleyball Association Hall, taking their tally to eight points-one clear of second-placed Al Wakrah. The result leaves Al Gharafa bottom of the standings with no points after three successive defeats.

In the day's other match, Qatar SC edged Al Arabi 3-2 in a tightly contested five-set encounter. Qatar SC came from two sets down-losing 29-31 and 21-25-before turning the match around 25-21, 25-22, and 15-13.

The win lifts Qatar SC to fourth place on five points, one behind Police SC, while Al Arabi remain seventh with three points.
